When it comes to breast surgery, you will find there is what is commonly referred to as breast augmentation techniques. These are techniques that are used to make sure that the person who is undergoing the surgery gets the best type of augmentation possible. This being the case, there are many techniques that can be used to ensure that this is the case. Of these techniques, there are two which are mainly the ones used. These are Inframammary and Periareolar. These are the procedures that can be considered to be preferred among most of the women in the world.

Inframammary

In the Inframammary type of procedure, there are some things which are done in order for it to be successful. The first thing that the patient will notice is that the incision is normally done on the breast. This is at the section that is referred to as IMF (Inframammary fold). The incision that is done is very important in the sense that it is the one that will provide access to the breast that is being operated on. At the same time, it will allow of the implant that is going to be placed in the breast to enter in the way that it should. Since this is the case, it would be found to be a favorite with certain types of implants. The type of implant that this procedure is good for is the silicon gel implants. The reason behind this is the fact that silicon gel implants need very long incisions. This type of incision is one of the longest in breast surgery. As a result, it is the best for this type of breast augmentation. However, the procedure has a chance of leaving scars that are more visible and take longer to heal.

Periareolar

Another type of breast augmentation procedure is the Periareolar. This is when the incision is done along the borders of the areola. This type of procedure is normally used when there is the need to do a breast lift. It is also used to give the best approach when there is the need for adjusting the IMF. The procedure is advised for women who will not breast feed again as there will be some time before this breast part recovers completely. At the same time, when it comes to surgery aftercare, the scars from these procedures are normally less visible and one has to take a close look to notice it.
