Technologies

There are two main types of technologies that are used for breast enlargement. The first technology is the one which is considered through the use of saline implants and the other is through silicon gel implants. Saline implants have been known to be in use since the sixties. They were first introduced in France in the early sixties. In the United States, they were used mostly in the nineties when the use of silicone gel was restricted. However, this changed with time. Though they are considered to be common, they have their downfalls. They are known to be likely to cause some discomfort cosmetically. These problems are like wrinkle and ripple which can be visible easily. This is especially the case for women who had very little breasts before the procedure.

Silicon gel

Silicon gel is one of the most common types of implant technologies that are in use in the world today. In the past, there were some restrictions which could not allow for the use of this gel in implant. In the present day however, this has all changed. The first time silicon gel was designed to be used as a breast implant was in 1961. In this year, Cronin and Gerow were in the process of making the first breast implant. After it was fully developed, the first woman was implanted them in the following year. From then, there has been great progress and change of the implants. This has been categorized into five generations which explain the change in development and improvements. These are great implants especially for surgery aftercare.
